Hepatopancreatobiliary surgery

Liver Surgery
Liver surgery involves the removal of a portion of the liver affected by lesions such as tumors, cysts, abscesses, or metastases. It is a complex procedure requiring precision and experience, as the liver is a vital, highly vascularized organ with regenerative capacity.
This surgery can be performed in a traditional or minimally invasive (laparoscopic) manner, depending on each case.
The main objective is to remove damaged tissue while preserving liver function and improving the patient's quality of life.

Biliary tract surgery
It encompasses procedures to treat problems in the bile ducts, such as blockages, narrowing, injury, or inflammation of the gallbladder. These ducts, which connect the liver, gallbladder, and small intestine, can be affected by gallstones, tumors, or injuries. Surgery may include removal of the gallbladder (cholecystectomy) or repair or reconstruction of the bile ducts.

Pancreatic Surgery
This refers to surgical procedures performed on the pancreas, usually to treat cancer or chronic pancreatitis. These surgeries may include partial or total removal of the pancreas, and in some cases, also of other organs such as the spleen, gallbladder, or part of the stomach and intestine.
